I started a new blog... I'll post the link on the side later...

http://helentype2.blogspot.com

It's just for posting my thoughts, progress, etc. on my diabetes... I welcome any comments there, too, and feel free to send friends who are diabetic there to converse as well...

Here's a couple of sites I like that aren't on my side bar list...

http://www.imdb.com Internet Movie DataBase
http://www.ibdb.com Internet Broadway DataBase
http://babelfish.altavista.com a translation site
http://www.biblegateway.com a Bible reference site

I'll put them on there eventually... ;)

Something to think about... get back to me if you need to...

What are your thoughts on "loosing your salvation" in terms of "is it possible" or "how do you"?

I've been digesting this one a bit since I read some comments on it yesterday... interesting thoughts but I think there was a gross misunderstanding and lack of good communication. I'll post more later... probably as a comment to this...

Okay, normally I wouldn't plug a movie I haven't even seen, but today I'm going to... Must Love Dogs... Here's why...

1. It looks so funny in the previews! Reeally cute... not too "chick flick" either though?!
2. My former classmate from high school is in it... Glenn Howerton.
3. It doesn't look like the "trash" some movies turn out to be.
4. Stockard Channing, Diane Lane, and John Cusack... oh, and Christopher Plummer...
5. The DOGS!!!

Granted, I could be wrong, but I'd say it's worth a shot and let me know what YOU think...

I've alwas considered Glenn a sweetheart of a guy, very talented, and cute. Some might say hot or sexy, but I say cute 'cause I still think of that cutie-pie from junior high with the precious picture in the yearbook.

{To Glenn, not that you're reading this, but if you are... my absolute best wishes with this project... With admiration, "the sane one" who's not as sane now!!}

Some food for thought... can't wait to hear responses...

First... I get why people don't approve of instrumental music in worship services. I'm not a fan of it either... I find it too distracting, detracting, "entertainment" for my taste. My question is why people would object to entertainment (that's obviously entertainment and not a worhip service) that has a Biblical basis... as in Godspell is based on the Book of Matthew and Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is based on, well, you can figure that one out. I'm afraid that I just find it hard to understand people not wanting entertainment to be morally based. I've found myself over the past years finding more and more a distinction between what I do as theatre and what I do as worship. Granted, to my physical body, it's not very different... but I don't think that's the key. I think the key is in the purpose behind it. PLEASE share some insights...

Second... what are your thoughts on worship teams? Yes/no? Good/bad? Where's your personal line at what makes them okay or not okay? I like them because it always helps when more than one person knows how something's supposed to "go"... flat out knows the song, knows the tempo, knows the pitches, knows the purpose... and can aide in that. My concern is that when you put a group of people in front of a much larger group of people, it becomes too much like entertainment rather than a worship aide. I know there's stuff I don't know about monitors and sound systems and stuff that make it "easier" and "nicer" if they are "up front"... but like I said about instruments... it's distracting and detracting and too much like entertainment for my taste. I don't know... give me more input... PLEASE...

Third... what do you think of Troy King's wearing the monitoring bracelet? I think it's a good move on his part. It shows he's serious about what he wants and shows "support" (in a way) to the parolees who have to wear them. Oh, and what about that John Roberts or whatever his name is that was just nominated to the Supreme Court? I guess I like him... can't say that I know much about him or have hear much about him? I know some of you have posted on these topics on your own blog so you can ignore it...

Fourth... out of curiousity... how many of you have had marriage trouble/separation/divorce affect your life in some way? No details... please, I have enough "drama" in my own life and don't need any added... and this from just recent reading... no one and nothing in particular...

I think that should do for now... later everyone...

Say a prayer 'cause it's about to get nasty here folks... it looke like Dennis is headed just west of Montgomery. Having now lived through Opal and Ivan (being the worse by far)... I'm not concerned as much since I know what to expect... just now know what it can do...

Friends aren't in the hospital any more... babies are doing the same... babies are doing worse... not much on the personal news front...

I find it very sad to hear that London's being retaliated against for doing nothing more than being supportive of someone they feel is in the right... I hope they catch these punks and that no one I know looses someone dear to them in this mess.

PS- I'm officially a dork... I missed my Diabetes Center appointments! I wrote down "the 7th" and remembered "the 7th", but "blondie" over here kept thinking that was Friday, TOMORROW... note that TODAY is the 7th... so I now have an appointment for Tuesday morning... "es mi vida loca?!"

Well that's no fun... that's the theme for the past 24 hours evidently...

Most recent... I couldn't pick up AM 1170. I was going to listen to some friends on Don Markwell's show from 11 to 12. Matthew Givens was just in My Fair Lady with me and Sam Wallace was our director. Matthew subs for Mark every now and again...

And the other... I just found out yesterday afternoon that I'm diabetic. Fortunately, it's type 2 so it's reversible if I'm a good girl. I haven't had an A1C test yet so I don't know the overall picture of my blood sugar... just that it was high enough to diagnosis me. Give me a week and I'll know more...

Anywhoo... life's okay, not great, not horrible... but okay...
