Okay... a few quick comments and back to work... I have a mini project before lunch...

I got to see a friend of mine last night that I haven't seen in years... Christophe. He was in town on vacation and came to see the show last night. I really miss him. I forgot how funny he is!! We laughed so much and had such a good time talking. Hopefully he'll be able to be in a show next summer while he's in town for two months.

I've had a really pretty crappy time since my last post, but things are looking up. I've been able to see lots of friends and family (my cousins are in town) and generally been having a better time so far this week.

BTW, if anyone knows of a drummer and bass guitarist who'd be willing to play for a show I'm directing, please let me know... babyj20@juno.com I couldn't pay anything but it could lead to paying shows later!!

Dude, the Tony's were so cool last night... I really enjoyed them. Partly 'cause for once I was at home (sort of, at my parents, close enough) and partly 'cause it honored some people I really admire. Yeah, yeah, congrats to all the winners... did you SEE Hugh kick with the Rockettes?!?! WOW!!... Fiddler gave me chills!... Jason'll never hear the end of it since Hugh won... yeah, Phylicia for being the first African-American woman to win Best Actress in a Musical... Just check out Playbill Online for the list... it's on there...

I must say though that, while I admire these people for their talent and thank God for giving me just part of what he's given them, there was one girl who truly impressed me. I say girl because I don't think she's even as old as I am... what am I saying, I don't even look as old as I am? She appeared to be about 23, give or take a year. What was so impressive and almost made me cry was how truly thankful to God she really seemed to be. Anika Noni Rose won the first award of the night. It's hard to explain how you could just tell that she was truly surprised to win and thankful to God. Part of it was the fact that she mentioned that Noni means "gift from God"... but that's not all of it... I knew I should have taped it!!

I am so glad that all my church family is back safe and sound from Mexico. They had a great trip from what I've heard. Eric keeps telling me (and others) "you really ought to go"... so I'm going to make plans to go next year "the good Lord a-willin' and the creek don't rise", as the song says. My bosses may not be happy, but oh well... ya know what, they'll live!! I really would like to go and may just have to see about studying Spanish this next school year in preparation... we'll see about that!! There's lots that depends on!!

In other news, my grandmother had a heart attack the Thursday before the 1st. She had by-pass surgery this past Tuesday and is home and doing better. If you want more info, just ask. But for now, just say a prayer she keeps healing well and doing better... and thank God she quit smoking, too!! ;)

That needs to be all for now...
